‘No apologies’: Malaysia ex-PM on speech that damage palm oil export to India – world information


Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Saturday mentioned he was not providing apologies for the influence of his contentious remarks on the Kashmir at UN Common meeting although he was sorry that it impacted Malaysian palm oil export to India.

“I supply no apology for what I had mentioned although I’m sorry that it had affected our palm oil export to India. I don’t know if that could be a excessive value to pay for talking out towards such injustices,” he mentioned in a tweet.

“What transpired since my contentious speech on the UN Common Meeting in September final 12 months solely served to show that what I had mentioned have been delicate and to a sure diploma, restrained,” he added.

In September 2019, Mahathir Mohamad, who was then the Prime Minister, raised the Kashmir concern throughout his speech on the UN Common Meeting.
