All the accused are residents of Chhattisgarh
As the thirteenth season of IPL begins in the UAE, the racket of bookies is seen collapsing in various cities in India. Goa police have arrested four people from Chhattisgarh for betting from a residential building in Panaji.
When the Goa Police Crime Branch raided the place, all the four arrested had accepted a bet of over Rs 50 lakh, said Superintendent of Police Shobit Saxena.
Ranjot Singh Chhabra, Sunil Motwani, Kapil Tolani and Vinay Gangwani are all residents of Raipur in Chhattisgarh. Police also seized some mobile phones and laptops used in the raid.
Goa Police has smashed the sixth betting racket so far since the start of the 13th season of the IPL. Police said that a bookie was operating a racket in a resort in Goa.
