The dying toll within the Punjab spurious liquor tragedy rose to 62 on Saturday as 23 extra casualties have been reported from the state’s Tarn Taran district, officers stated.
Until Friday evening, the district had reported 19 deaths.
“In Tarn Taran, the dying toll has reached 42,” Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh instructed PTI on Saturday, including that the utmost deaths came about within the Sadar and metropolis areas of district. Other than Tarn Taran, the authorities had reported 11 casualties in Amritsar and 9 in Gurdaspur’s Batala since Wednesday evening.
