The incident occurred on Monday when Nikhil Kumar, a drug addict, requested his grandmother, Bhuma Devi, for cash to purchase medication however she refused, resulting in an argument. Nikhil pushed his grandmother and he or she fell on a glass desk. He picked up a chunk of damaged glass and stabbed her, killing her on the spot.
